The continuing rise of global energy prices and the UK Government’s Policy on Climate Change has resulted in continual revisions the UK Building Regulations, as well as planning policy at both national and local level.
Addressing sustainability issues associated with policy requirements now forms an intrinsic part of engineering services within the built environment.
This requires a holistic review of sustainable solutions to a project at the preplanning stage in addition to feasibility reviews throughout the course of a project. This requires strategic decisions to be made that will fundamentally affect the future design of a development.
Within our sustainability team we have the skills required to undertake this task at an early stage and continue seeing projects through to practical completion.
The sustainability team are closely integrated with the Practice’s engineering design team through all phases of a project to ensure that planning and Client objectives are delivered.
The sustainability team also offers independent advice to clients, where engineering input is not required, covering the following works;
